Two new parent bee-pollinating lines of gherkin-type cucumber have been created: BD 96-18 and Tomа, which were transferred in 2019 to the NCGRRU for registration of a sample of the plant gene pool of Ukraine. The next stages of selection work are carried out. According to the results, a valuable source material of cucumber was selected according to the main selection features: the degree of manifestation of parthenocarpy, precocity; yield, productivity, resistance to downy mildew and marketability of fruits. There are four hybrid combinations with a high degree of dominance 0,83-6,70) and the effect of heterosis of 116-276 % on the main valuable breeding traits (yield, productivity, precocity, marketability of fruits) – F1 (Masha / Game) / (Fortuna / D96), F1 (Masha / Game) / Potomac, F1 (Romance / D96A) / Source), F1 (Romance / D96A) / Game). Varietal testing of new promising F1 hybrids was carried out. According to the set of indicators in the open ground, the hybrid combination F1 BD 96-18 / RD 96 2-95 – bee-pollinating hybrid Sonnet F1 and in the conditions of protected soil the hybrid combination F1 Anus / №11 – parthenocarpic hybrid of gherkin type Slava F1 which are transferred for qualification examination. Reproduction of perspective genotypes is carried out. Seeds of nine gherkin-type genotypes, 14 new F1 hybrid combinations and promising selection material in the amount of 100 selections were obtained.
