A group of neutron control channels has been identified that record an increase in neutron flux density over a long period of time. As a result of the conducted researches the algorithm of identification of dangerous changes of level of subcriticality of accumulation of nuclear-hazardous fissile materials in the premise 305/2 of the Shelter object is offered. An improvement of the mathematical model, which reproduces the dynamics of neutron flux density during chain reactions in critical and subcritical compositions, which connects the main parameters of the accumulation of fissile nuclear hazardous materials. The reliability of the calculation of this model was tested on experimental data obtained during the 1990 neutron incident. The sensitivity of this model to the main parameters of the accumulation of fissile nuclear hazardous materials is analyzed. The analysis of the sensitivity of this model to various parameters (retention time, water inflow / outflow rate, etc.) allowed us to estimate the operating range of the initial data. Based on the results of variable calculation of energy release power when changing the reactivity introduced into the neutron multiplication system and the retention time of its integrity, the range of potential radiation effects was estimated in case of self-sustaining chain reaction in the volume of clusters of fissile nuclear materials in room 305/2 of the Shelter facility. The results of the work were implemented in the State Specialized Enterprise "Chornobyl NPP" and were used in compiling the report on "Scientific and technical support at the stages of commissioning and operation of the New Safe Confinement - Shelter (aspects of nuclear and radiation safety)" and reports on the security status of the Shelter facility in 2020.
