The difference between the animals of these genotypes is: for high fertility - 0.06-0.01 kg, the index "alignment (homogeneity) of the sow's nest for live weight of piglets at birth, points" - 1.05-1.84 points, index M. D. Berezovsky - 3.75 - 2.36 points. Studies of fattening and meat qualities of young pigs showed that a significant difference between animals of different genotypes by the gene of melanocortin receptor - 4 (MC4R AA, MC4R AG) was established by the average daily gain of live weight during the control period of fattening (33.8 g, P <0.01 ), the age of reaching a live weight of 100 kg (3.9 days, P <0,01), the thickness of the fat at the level of 6-7 thoracic vertebrae (1.8 mm, P <0,05), the length of the chilled carcass cm, P <0,001), the length of the bacon half of the cooled half-carcass (2.9 cm, P <0,001) and the selection index SI (3.15 points, P <0.05). In order to accelerate the selection of existing breeds of pigs, we propose to use traditional methods of assessing the breeding value of pigs (according to the Instruction on pig grading), methods of selection and evaluation indices and modern genetic methods (DNA markers). This is confirmed by calculations of economic efficiency of sows and breeding boars of the main herd in terms of reproductive qualities (increase in additional products is +5.15%, or +165.41 UAH / head), as well as their offspring for fattening and soft qualities (increase in additional products is equal to +2.02%, or +549.42 UAH / head).
