Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  Object of research: physical processes of focusing of wave laser beams with inhomogeneous spatial polarization in the terahertz and IR ranges. The purpose of research  to establish physical regularities of focusing of wave laser beams of continuous radiation of terahertz and IR ranges with inhomogeneous spatial polarization and to develop methods of diagnostics and control of radiation of focused laser beams. Methods of research: Rayleigh-Sommerfeld vector theory; method of finite differences in the time domain for bodies of revolution (BOR FDTD); matrix method; method of measuring the parameters of spatial polarizations using matrix receivers with polarizers. For the first time the physical features of spatial-energy characteristics at moderate and sharp focusing in free space of radiation beams with different spatial polarization of fields excited by modes of terahertz laser based on circular dielectric and metallic waveguides were established, theoretically substantiated and experimentally confirmed in the terahertz range. By placing absorbing masks of different diameters in front of the phase corrector, the possibilities of controlling the distribution of the field components of focused laser beams are experimentally confirmed.
