The purpose of the work is to improve the methods of synthesis of nanostructured materials with a given morphology and physicochemical properties to obtain materials with the highest values of optical nonlinearity. Also, the aim of the work was to study and determine the relaxation channels of exciton energy by comparing the optical spectra of aqueous solutions (non-interacting particles) and of solid films of ZnSe quantum dots. During the project realization the following methods were used - methods of electron, optical microscopy and spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, mass spectroscopy, nonlinear optical technique z-scan. As a result, the value of the cubic nonlinear susceptibility of PdO thin films was obtained and were defined the effect of the change in the degree of oxidation on their absorption spectra and nonlinear optical characteristics. For ZnSe quantum dots, the existence of two mechanisms of electronic excitation energy transfer in energy- and spatially disordered films of quantum dots was established.
