The purpose of the work is to develop the design of the electromagnetic drive and the forced control system of vacuum switching devices. Research methods - analysis of design features of drives of vacuum switching devices (contactors) and their control systems, analysis of dynamics of forced electromagnets is carried out by a numerical method based on mathematical modeling using the mathematical package Maple. The rational linear dimensions of the structural elements of the polarized electromagnet were determined, which provided a reduction in the mass and dimensions. Prospects of application of the system of forced control of the monostable electromagnet of the vacuum contactor which provided reduction of the sizes of the contactor and the consumed power, and also increased its speed are considered. A mathematical model of electromagnet dynamics as a part of forced control system is offered Based on the calculations, a polarized electromagnet was developed for installation in the vacuum contactor of medium voltages and a forced control system with semiconductor elements.
