The aim of the work is to study the modifying effect on copper and aluminum of insoluble more refractory metals during crystallization from the vapor phase and melt in vacuum. Research methods: methods of X-ray diffractometry, metallography, scanning and high-resolution scanning electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence elemental analysis, measurement of strength properties and thermal stability of the initial state. It is established that the main regularities of the modified effect of molybdenum, tantalum and niobium on copper, zirconium and iron on aluminum are fulfilled when obtaining alloys during crystallization from the vapor phase and from melts. It is established that the initial nanometer grain size of the matrix metal of copper condensates is preserved under the influence of temperature to values from 800 °C to 900 °C for several hours. These figures are a record now for metals in the nanostructured state. The hypothesis is proposed and the first confirmatory experimental results on thermal stabilization of state nanostructures by forming at the grain boundaries of matrix metals grain boundary segregations by atoms of exclusive elements having certain physicochemical properties in relation to matrix metals are obtained.
