For the first time in Ukraine, regenerated plants of sowing saffron (Crocus sativus L.) were obtained; the features of their growth, calusogenesis were studied; a comparative morphological analysis of the organs of the original plant and the structures that arise in culture in vitro was carried out. The use of low-temperature shock before the introduction of saffron seed explants into the culture had a negative effect on the survival rate, the rate of growth and development, the formation of leaves and roots, and, subsequently, on the productivity of plants in vitro. The best rates of survival rate 53%, bud development 57%, growth and formation of aboveground and underground parts of plants (40 and 35%, respectively) were obtained with the introduction of saffron into an in vitro culture at the end of May-June in the usual way. Published a brochure "Peculiarities of the introduction of sowing saffron (Crocus sativus L.) to the south of Ukraine".
