Aim of research – acid modified aluminosilicates, additionally impregnated with copper(II) and cobalt(II) chlorides as catalysts of glycerol transformation into compounds wich perspectives as additives for motor fuels, pharmacy, cosmetics, etc. Catalytic properties of acid modified samples of bentonite (H-BNT), clinoptilolite (H-CPT) and trepel (H-TRP) in glycerol (Gl) reaction with acetone (Ac) and acetic acid (AA), treated with copper and cobalt chloride are compared. In the presence of H-KPT-3_3 (2.5 wt.%; 5 wt.%) and H-TRP-3_3 (5 wt.%) samples, regardless of copper and cobalt content, the dominant reaction product is monoacetin with a selectivity of 58- 67%. In the presence of copper and cobalt ions in H-Bnt-3_3, monoacetin is dominant. Despite the nature of mineral acid (sulfuric or nitric), no significant changes in reaction rate and conversion are observed during glycerol acylation process. In Gl reaction with Ac, for all catalyst samples, increasing of copper content leads to decrease Gl conversion and at the maximum copper content the reaction does not go at all. With increasing of cobalt content in H-CPT-3_3 in comparison with initial sample, glycerol conversion decreases, and in the presents of H-Bnt-3_3 the conversion is practically unchanged (ZGl ˃90%). The rate values of the of Gl loss and accumulation of solketal in the presence of H-CPT-3_3 are almost comparable regardless of cobalt content, whereas in the presence of H-Bnt-3_3, these values are comparable only at higher cobalt content.
