The purpose is to reveal the definitions and to explore the essence of the socio-economic category of human capital subjectness as a factor for socio-economic development. Main results: the essence of the socio-economic category of human capital subjectness and its role as a factor for economic development is determined; an interdisciplinary economic and the sociological concept of the human capital subjectness role in economic growth is developed; the manifestation of human capital subjectness in political, economic and value aspects are demonstrated; the role of civic engagement is revealed; social subjects whose activities determine socio-cultural shifts both globally and locally are identified; a socio-economic approach has been developed whereby the main analytic unit of the social is given to an event as an activity of the social subject; theoretical and methodological approaches, the methodological and methodical basis for the study of the subjectness of the creative class and the subjectness of public servants are identified; the conceptualization of the new subjectness is offered and examples of its display in Ukrainian society are provided; the peculiarities of the social institutions' influence on the formation of human capital subjectness in Ukrainian society is revealed. The scientific novelty of the research is that for the first time the understanding of the human capital subjectness as a factor for socio-economic development has been developed, and the influence peculiarities of the main Ukrainian socio-economic institutions on the formation of the national human capital subjectness in the conditions of reforms have been determined.
