Object of research: lettuce sowing variety of romaine, schemes, timing of sowing, methods of threshing seeds. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the main elements of the technology of growing lettuce of the Skarb variety - by developing optimal plant placement schemes, terms of cultivation, methods of threshing seeds in the Northern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Research methods: field - determination of biological and morphological features of plants and duration between phase periods of their development, seed productivity of lettuce; laboratory - biometric, measuring-weighing and statistical, for the analysis of reliability of the received results of researches, settlement (establishment of efficiency of technological receptions of cultivation of lettuce for seed purposes). The influence of schemes of placement of lettuce plants of sowing variety of romaine on seed purposes is established. The optimal layout is 70 x 15 cm, with a standing density of 95.2 thousand units / ha. With thickened crops, the productivity per plant decreased to 2.8 g, and the total yield increased to 0.2 t / ha. The increase in seed yield under the corresponding placement scheme, compared with the control was 0.05 t / ha (21.0%). The most economically advantageous is the use of placement scheme 70 x 15 cm, which shows an increase in relatively net profit to 90,200 thousand UAH / ha. Economic efficiency of the developed agricultural measure is 27,010 thousand UAH / ha. The lowest yield of 0.18 t / ha was obtained with liquefied crops in the layout of 70 x 35 cm, which is less than the control by 0.02 t / ha. Studies have shown the effect of sowing dates on seed productivity and sowing qualities of seeds. The optimal time for sowing seeds of romaine lettuce seeds in the Northern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine is the second decade of April.
