RESEARCH ON THE LOW-COST POWDER METALLURGY PROCESS OF TITANIUM ALLOY AND THE FABRICATION OF THE NOVEL EB-PVD FUNCTIONAL COATINGS. The object of research are coatings based on titanium-matrix composites reinforced with boron carbide, titanium diboride and boron. This work aim is to study the structure and properties of titanium-matrix coatings obtained by electron beam melting. It was found that the highest values of hardness (52 HRC) has a coating of titanium matrix composite reinforced with boron carbide. Tribological properties were evaluated by studying the wear of the coating on weight loss. It was found that weight loss in the range of 0-75 min for titanium-matrix coatings is almost non-existent, in contrast to the weight loss of the substrate with Steel 3, which shows a significant weight loss over time in a linear progression, indicating the feasibility of using this type of coating as a protective. To assess the corrosion resistance of coatings, the corrosion rate was measured by the method of polarization curves. It is established that the developed titanium matrix coatings have protective properties and corrosion resistance close to pure titanium. But unlike titanium, they have increased hardness and heat resistance due to the presence of carbides and borides. And they have better corrosion resistance than steel St3 and can be used as protective corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant and wear-resistant coatings on parts operating in extreme conditions.
