Stationary bombardment was carried out using an ion source, pulsed plasma loading was performed in a quasi-stationary plasma accelerator QSPA Kh-50. Plasma-thermal loads close to the cracking threshold of tungsten led to macroscopic erosion of irradiated surfaces depending on the initial structure of the samples. It is established that the mechanism of crack formation is plastic deformation of surface layers by twinning, which is enhanced by the interaction of the twin with hydrogen-filled micropores.
