The purpose of research - based on the generalization of the results of theoretical research at a high methodological level to identify linear material by morphological genes for use in heterosis selection of watermelon; to create a new competitive heterozygous hybrid of watermelon on the basis of monoection type lines; expand the range of genotypic variability by induced mutagenesis. Research methods - hybridization in combination with different types of selection; laboratory-field. The sources of valuable traits were identified: monoeciousness – 57, early ripening – 39, yield – 61, disease resistance – 47, marketability – 10, dry soluble matter content – 15. According to morphobiological traits, 18 genes of table watermelon were identified: B – 3, yo – 3, С – 1, Scr –17, Тi – 5, go – 1, nl – 5, w – 1, g – 5, d – 21, t –7, dw-1-s – 1, gs – 1, a – 14, Fo – 12, Ctr – 5, Ar -2–7, cr –1. 76 significant 5 % significant correlation values between the characteristics of the source material were identified, of which 21 were strong. Two hybrids of watermelon Tatius F1 and Met F1 with a set of valuable economic characteristics were created: yield, respectively 40–45 t / ha (up to 53,3 t / ha) 35–40 (up to 45,8 t / ha), middle-early – 80-85 days. Chemical composition of the fruit: dry soluble substance: 9,9-10,6 %, sugar 8-9 %, vitamin C - 6-7 mg / 100 g, disease resistant (7-9 b). The level of profitability is 308-325 %. Economic effect from the cultivation of 17-34 t / ha. Reproduction of 56 promising genotypes. 20 lines of watermelon with high CA and a set of economically valuable traits have been created for use in heterosis selection.
