Purpose - to create new starting material that will further contribute to the improvement of triticale varieties in terms of yield, adaptability and grain quality. Methods – field (hybridization, selection, visual assessment of growth rates, winter hardiness, drought resistance, disease resistance); grain quality methods (determination of protein and starch contents, test bread baking, etc.); statistical analyses. Theoretical results - the method of creating synthetic populations of triticale with a modified biochemical composition has been improved. Practical results - a synthetic alternate triticale variety with high adaptive and technological features has been created and submitted for the state variety trials. Novelty - the advantages of new variety Novator (KhAD 86-2) over analogues are increased winter hardiness, increased drought resistance and increased disease resistance.
