Immunocytochemically, these cells expressed CD57 і CD117 that corresponded to the histogenetic nature of this neoplasm. In one patient, aged 12 years, whose treatment has been continuing since the early childhood, the cells of neuroblastoma metastasis expressed CD44 characteristic of cancer stem cells. Such finding is indicative of the specified stage of the neoplastic process evolvement suggesting the revision of the therapeutic strategy in this specific case. In pediatric patients with Ewing sarcoma and PNET, the metastatic lesions in bone marrow were identified by the expression of CD99 (MIC2). The novel data obtained signify the importance of immunocytochemical detection of the combination of CD57, CD117, CD99 (glycoprotein p30/32) as well as CD44 (associated with the realization of the metastatic potential) on the surface membranes of the neoplastic cells for the differential diagnosis of bone marrow metastases of tumors differing by their histogenesis.
