A new general and simple method for obtaining racemic diethyl α-fluoro-β-ketophosphonates has been developed. Addition of LDA to a solution of diethylfluoromethylphosphonate and aromatic, heteroaromatic and aliphatic ethers in THF at -78 ºC allowed to obtain the corresponding diethyl-α-fluoro-β-ketophosphonates in high yields. The synthesis of previously unknown 3,3-difluoro-GABA using the reaction of ethyl bromodifluoroacetate and ethyl vinyl ether has been developed. A convenient synthetic method for multigram synthesis of α, α-difluoro-γ-aminobutyric acid - a pharmacologically promising analogue of γ-aminobutyric acid was developed. A simple method for producing fluorinated analogs of glutamic acid and glutamine using the reaction of ethyl bromodifluoroacetate with α, β-unsaturated derivatives of α-amino acids is proposed.
