It is shown that phosphors with x = 0.1 and 0.25 obtained at 1200°С compose of single crystal phase. It is found that Mn incorporates in the crystal lattice of solid solutions as both Mn4+ and Mn2+ at 1000-1200°C, and in the crystal lattice of Zn2TiO4 as Mn4+ at 800-1150°C and both Mn4+ and Mn2+ at temperatures ≥ 1200°C. It is shown that all solid solutions show red luminescence of Mn4+ ions; as the x increases, the peak of the luminescence band shifts from 663 nm (x = 0.1) to 676 nm (x = 0.75). It is found that the main reason of low intensity of red luminescence in Zn2TiO4:Mn4+ and (Zn0.75Mg0.25)2TiO4:Mn4+ phosphors is its intense thermal quenching at room temperature. It is found that the phosphors with x = 0.1 and 0.25 and magnesium content of 0.1 mol.% obtained at 1100°С show the highest intensity of red luminescence.
