Research methods - morphometric, biochemical, zootechnical, statistical. The concept of the influence of feeding factors on the reproductive characteristics of male birds has been substantiated, which indicates the relationship between the level of estrogen in the food and the size of testicles and ridges in males. The optimal sizes of testicles in the functional period were found to ensure high quality of sperm and fertilization of eggs (98.2%). A method has been developed for determining the size and weight of testicles in males, based on ultrasound scanning in the frequency range of 4-10 MHz. It allows for intravital and non-invasive determination of testicle size in males of 12-21 weeks of age and is characterized by high sensitivity (84%) and specificity (89%). Predictive assumptions for the development of the object of research - information about the characteristics of roosters with hypo- and hypergonadism in the functional period is the basis for creating appropriate populations of chickens and studying their morpho-physiological, productive and reproductive characteristics, the level of resistance to pathogens and toxins. The use of ultrasound diagnostics in the practice of breeding chickens makes it possible to effectively monitor the morphological and physiological state of brood roosters.
