Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The object of research is the fluxes of particles and energy that occur, or may occur, in the plasma of thermonuclear devices and technological installations during the conduct or development of experiments. Purpose: to establish the fundamental properties of energy fluxes and particles in the plasma, which are caused by the interaction of these fluxes with the chambers of the installations, perturbations in the plasma and dust particles. Research methods: modern theoretical and experimental methods of plasma research, including - developed during the project new methods of numerical simulation - a self-consistent solution for fields in plasma; the latest kinetic code based on a combination of "particle in a cell" and Monte Carlo codes; experimental equipment is a new generation plasma accelerator KSPP-M and a powerful plasma accelerator KSPP X-50, which is a recognized device for reproducing the physical conditions arising from controlled thermonuclear fusion. During the implementation of Stage 1 of the Agreement, the following new results were obtained: - the processes accompanying the interaction of powerful plasma flows with material obstacles, such as tungsten walls of chambers or diverters of thermonuclear installations, are studied; - a new two-dimensional linear kinetic model for the calculation of resonant magnetic perturbations in a tokamak was developed; - development of ion-sound instability in dusty plasma was simulated; - a stationary gas discharge supported in a waveguide structure with a weakly variable radius of a metal body is theoretically investigated. The obtained results will be used to develop and improve numerical codes for predicting damage to surfaces in contact with plasma in a thermonuclear reactor and during experiments on the Asdex Upgrade thermonuclear plant.
