The AmyGreen dye has been proposed as an effective fluorescent probe capable of visualizing bacterial amyloids in biofilms as well as detecting pathological amyloids in vitro. In solution, AmyGreen increases its fluorescence intensity tenfold in the presence of amyloid fibrils and gives a low fluorescence reaction in the presence of various biomolecules. AmyGreen provides fluorescent staining of amyloids in bacterial biofilms, which allows you to visualize the amyloid components of the biofilm with higher resolution.
