The purpose of the work is scientific substantiation of ways of intensification and increase of ecological safety of technological process of composting of bird droppings, improvement of quality of received organic fertilizers. Research methods - zootechnical, statistical, engineering and economic. Their influence on the main parameters of the composting process, the dynamics of ammonia emission and the quality of the obtained fertilizers is determined. It was found that the improved method of composting the litter of poultry provides a reduction in the duration of the composting process compared to the base version by 33%, ammonia emissions from the surface of compost piles by an average of 24%, increasing the nitrogen content in the finished compost by 0.35%. The economic effect is 45.1 UAH / t of the obtained compost. The improved method of composting litter with dead birds provides a reduction in the duration of the composting process compared to the base version by 27%, ammonia emissions from the surface of compost piles by an average of 22%, increasing the nitrogen content in compost by 0.69%. The economic effect is 54.6 UAH / t of compost obtained. Based on the results of the research, methodical recommendations "Improved methods of composting bird droppings" were prepared.
