Registration Date 08-01-2021 Organization A.V Dumansky Institute of Colloid Chemistry and Water Chemistry popup.description2 Goal of research - to develop the concept of mutual interaction between the elements of modifying layers and the interaction of these elements with bound water. Studied objects: adsorbents - natural and modified layer silicates; modifiers - cationic surfactants; adsorbates - water, surfactants, dyes, humate. Research methods - preparative, calorimetry, structural sorption, weighting sorption, analytical sorption, X-ray phase analysis, electrochemistry, spectral, quantum chemistry, molecular statistics. The influence of natural and anthropogenic impurities on the state of natural water components and pollutants and their interaction in aqueous solutions is studied. By lab studies and research-industrial tests, the efficiency of added crushed natural alumosilicates to improve the quality of coagulation cleaning of surface waters is estimated. The combined use of these additives with aluminium sulfate is shown to increase the purification degree, reduce the consumption of reagents and the amount of sediments. The interaction of short micelle-forming cations with vermiculite is studied. For the first time the empirical method to calculate standard mixing enthalpy for exchange of these ions on modified silicate is proposed. The use of sodium hypochlorite in demanganation is studied and the optimal conditions of this process at actual characteristics of groundwater are found. The energetics and structure of complex hydrated anionic-cationic complexes and adsorption of anionic surfactants on the modified surface of layered silicate are studied by quantum chemistry methods; the mechanism of selective adsorption of polar organic substances on polar adsorbents from polar solvent is also studied. The adsorption of hydrocarbons from saturated vapor on the water surface and the synergistic effect that accompanies the adsorption of surfactant at the aqueous solution/saturated vapor of alkane at low concentrations of this surfactant are studied by molecular thermodynamic methods.  Product Description popup.authors Ivanova Zinaida H.
