ATOM, AUTOIONIZATION, EXCITATION, IONIZATION, EFFECTIVE CROSS SECTION, CORRELATION EFFECTS, THEORETICAL APPROXIMATION. The object of research - the processes of formation and decay of autoionization states of the Rb atom, Tl and Pb ions, the phenomena of resonant excitation and correlation effects that accompany these processes. The aim of the work is to study the role of correlation effects in the course of elementary processes in paired collisions of electrons with alkali metal atoms and ions of the aluminum subgroup, which take place in plasma media with metal vapor impurities, obtaining energy and dynamic characteristics, atomic constants and modeling of basic interparticle interaction mechanisms. Research methods - within the modern software package Flexible Atomic Code to obtain excitation cross sections used distortion of wave and Born approximations, which take into account the relativistic nature of excitation of complex atoms by using the Dirac-Coulomb Hamiltonian and numerical calculation of the basis of relativistic Dirac-Fock radial orbitals. The calculations were also performed in multi-configuration approximations, which allowed to establish the role of correlation corrections in the calculation of excitation cross sections. The main scientific results are calculated electron excitation energies, excitation cross sections, electron decay probabilities and eigenvector decomposition coefficients for selected autoionization states of Rb atom, Tl and Pb ions. The analysis of the most successful consideration of the different set of skeleton configurations for these heavy atoms and ions is carried out. The parameter of the intensity ratio R0 for the Rb atom was investigated, which made it possible to evaluate the reliability of experimental and theoretical data.
