The purpose of the study is to develop better methods to improve the productivity and quality of single-seeded fodder beets and to create new varieties and hybrids that would meet the needs of agricultural production. Research methods - laboratory and field using hybridization, saturating crosses, inbreeding and selections. At the stage of the current year, studies were conducted on the tendency to self-pollination of candidates in the sterility fixer. The method of formation of initial selection material for further creation of genetically single-seeded variety of fodder beet is described. Plants were selected from pollinators that tied the seeds. Out of 66 numbers, 20 were selected. Selections of single-seeded, highly productive numbers of fodder beets from selection nurseries were carried out. 14 perspective numbers were received.
