Purpose - to develop and improve methodological approaches to the formation of trait, special, genetic and other collections of grain legumes and groats crops, selection of valuable sources of pea, soybean, bean, chickpea, lentil, and millet and their introduction into the breeding process to create domestic innovative products. Methods - introduction; assessments by field, laboratory and other methods; identification; long-term storage; creation of an information system on the gene pool. Results -in 2016-2020, results of multi-year studies of the genetic value of grain legumes and groats crops were summarized. A database of soybean and millet pedigrees has been filed for patents. Two trait collections of bean and lentil; four training ones of pea, bean, chickpea and lentil; two working ones of chickpea and millet have been formed and registered with the NCPGRU. A genetic collection of bean and two trait collections of millet have been submitted for registration. Scientific products are recommended for use in studies in research-breeding institutions and educational institutions. They enable intensifying the learning process and accelerating the creation of varieties by 3-4 years.
