The purpose of the work is to create effective diagnostic kits for control of potato viruses and to conduct monitoring studies of potato viral diseases in agrocenoses of Ukraine Research methods - laboratory (virological, immunological, electron microscopic, physiological and biochemical), field, statistical. According to the results of virological monitoring in 2016-2020, the spread of the main viruses that cause potato diseases in the agrocenoses of the main economic regions of Ukraine was determined. The potato virus population is dominated PVM, PVS, and PVY. The biological, physicochemical and antigenic properties of the new strains MVK-kr and YVK-n were isolated in pure culture and studied. Diagnostic test systems for detection and identification of potato viruses in plant material (PVS, PVM, PVY, PVX) by real-time PCR have been developed. It is established that the developed test systems for the detection of phytopathogenic viruses in plant material are suitable for use. Normative and technical documentation for PCR test systems has been prepared. A database of pathogens of potato viral diseases has been created, the publication "Distribution of phytopathogenic potato viruses in agrocenoses of Ukraine" has been prepared in 2 parts (maps and atlas). The first part shows in graphical format the spread of phytopathogenic potato viruses in agrocenoses of Ukraine in 2016-2020.
