Ensuring real nature protection within the NPF is impossible without having reliable information about the state of biota and natural complexes of protected areas and facilities. This problem is solved by maintaining the state cadastre of the NPF. The principal approaches to the inventory of natural complexes of the NPF are defined in the Law of Ukraine "On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine" (1992). It emphasizes that the cadastre of territories and objects of the NPF is a system of necessary and reliable information about the natural, scientific, legal and other characteristics of the NPF. It is conducted to assess the composition and prospects of development of the NFP, the condition of the territories and objects that are part of it, the organization of protection and effective use of natural complexes, planning research. In addition, the cadastre is needed to provide government agencies, interested enterprises, institutions and organizations with relevant information that can be used to address issues of socio-economic development and location of productive forces. Cadastral materials require system updates. Now it is especially relevant for Sumy region, for which the work on the inventory of natural complexes of the nature reserve fund was carried out in 2004. These studies can be conducted gradually, covering individual integrated territorial communities or administrative districts. Update of cadastral data was started this year from Sumy district according to the Agreement № 19 dated 22.09.2020, concluded between the Department of Environmental Protection and Energy of Sumy Regional State Administration and Sumy National Agrarian University.
