This included development of electromagnetic models of nanolasers with various quantum active regions and graphene elements; such models characterize the eigenmodes of lasers at the threshold of stationary radiation. Basic integral and algebraic equations for nanolasers in the form of circular active wires, completely and partially covered with graphene, wire with graphene strip inside, active layer with graphene strip grating on the surface, and graphene disk on the active substrate were derived. Graphene, or monoatomic layer of graphite, is a novel material having a high and controlled conductivity. Electromagnetic modeling of eigenmodes of nanolasers, especially with resonant graphene elements, at the threshold of their stationary radiation, using eigenvalue problems for open resonators - is a completely new direction in electromagnetic theory. Nanolasers with graphene elements were considered as open electromagnetic resonators containing the active regions. Their eigenmodes, on the threshold of their stationary radiation, were considered as eigenvalue solutions of specialized boundary value problems; the eigenvalues include the thresholds values of the gain index of the active-region material.
