Simultaneously, the composition and parameters of synthesis of more complex coatings such as oxides, nitrides based on Ti, Zr, Cr and their combinations were optimized. As a result of a comprehensive analysis of the results of the work, a series of coatings was created, which are characterized by a relatively low level of compressive stresses (more plastic than under normal conditions) and a small size of crystallites (~ 10 nm). The parameters of synthesis of carbide-carbon coatings of Ti-Al-C type are optimized. As a result, it was possible to synthesize a series of coatings characterized by a hardness of 12… 30 GPa, a relatively low Young's modulus (149 - 349 GPa), and good wear resistance. The use of an integrated approach (combining plasma-physical and plasma-chemical methods in one process) allowed to obtain diamond-like coatings with a wide range of physical and mechanical characteristics and to establish the process of synthesis of coatings with the necessary parameters for practical implementation. It is proved that the use of a pulsed power supply of a glow discharge allows 2 times (up to 3.7 μm/h) to increase the synthesis rate of diamond coatings, and optimization of the frequency and duty cycle of the pulses leads to a further increase in the synthesis rate (up to 7.5 μm/h) and corresponding reduction of energy consumption by 1.5 times.
