The objectives of the first stage of the study were to study the representation of wind farms and solar plants within the steppe zone; establishing the degree of study of herpetobiont fauna; processing of collected materials and summarizing intermediate results. To achieve the goals, a map was drawn up showing the built and planned wind farms and wind farms (107 wind farms and 78 solar plants); literature data on the distribution of herpetobionts were collected; control sites were selected and initial field research was conducted at selected sites; equipment purchased required for further work. The search for solar plants and wind farms to create a complete map was carried out with the help of official sources and with the help of satellite images from 2008-2020. Creation of GIS- layers of vector data and with the use of historical satellite images established the state of the site of each of the RES before their construction; RES objects were compared with the database of finds of rare species (more than 30 thousand finds of species listed in the Red book of Ukraine and the Berne Convention; the database is the work of the authors in previous studies). This cartographic material was created for the first time, and the analysis of the impact on populations of rare species is the most complete at this time. The analysis showed that most solar plants were built within agrocenoses and areas of the secondary steppe. Only a small number of solar plants are built within industrial zones. Some of the most glaring examples of the construction of RES facilities in areas where rare species have been previously registered, or in areas of nature reserves. During our original research, populations of rare species Spalax zemni and Allactag Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2021-03-17 Close
