Yanovsky National academy of medical sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2 The object of the study – 470 children with newly diagnosed tuberculosis (TB) of the respiratory system, statistical indicators of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on TB in children. It is established that for the last 14 years the percentage of bacterial excretors among patients under 14 years of age has increased 2.5 times, among adolescents – doubly. The phagocytes’ dysfunction, hyperglobulinemia A, M, and G, increased levels of anti-TB antibodies have been revealed in children regardless of the resistance’s presence. In general, in 29.0 % of patients with MR TB the resistance of the MBT to 4 drugs was determined, in 10.5 % – to 5 drugs of the I line, by 28.3 % the cases of simultaneous confirmation of the MBT resistance to the drugs of the I line and fluoroquinolones and at 8.0 % – to Et. The resistance of the MBT to Et and Mfx was determined in 19.2 %, to Km and Ofl – in 16.4 %, to Lfx – in 13.7 % of cases. Bacterial excretion is more often confirmed in children with infiltrative TB – the group № 1 (50.7 %) and group № 2 (30.6 %). In examined children the DR TB has been confirmed more often in the first group – in children with TB of intrathoracic lymph nodes and tuberculomas – 52.8 % and 66.7 %, respectively, in children from the second group – with initial tuberculosis complex (75.0 %). A method for predicting the risk of local TB in children with latent tuberculosis (LTBI), which allows to increase the prediction’s accuracy by 29.4 %, has been developed. It prevents the transition of LTBI to active TB by prescribing additional examinations and preventive treatment to children from the group risk. The technology of development prevention of the widespread TB forms at children which consists of carrying out inspection of the child not only when symptoms are present but annually, as prophylactic inspection which promotes earlier detection of limited forms of TB has been worked out.
