Purpose - to improve methods for determining the potential resistance of starting material of field crops to bio- and abiotic factors. Methods - phytopathological, breeding, genetic, statistical. Multi-year research resulted in two utility model patents: "Method for Assessing Soybean for Resistance to Fusarium Pathogens" and "Method for Determining Contamination of Spring Barley Seeds with Helmintosporium spp". A method for determining the resistance of field crops to bio- and abiotic factors and a method for determining the resistance of starting material of field crops to several stressors in the eastern forest-steppe of Ukraine were developed. Two catalogs of starting material of field crops have been compiled for breeding for resistance to major diseases and pests in the forest-steppe of Ukraine. Resistance of 1,191 accessions to 26 species of harmful organisms was evaluated on artificial and provocative infection. The 2016-2020 data enabled us to distinguish 398 sources of resistance to diseases and pests of cereal, pea, soybean, corn, sunflower, including 216 sources of individual resistance, 76 sources of group resistance and 106 sources of complex resistance. Hybridological analysis revealed 15 sunflower donors of resistance to the downy mildew pathogen. Sixteen valuable accessions of field crops have been registered with the NCPGRU: three winter bread wheat accessions with group resistance to diseases, five spring barley accessions with complex resistance to diseases and pests, eight pea accessions with a set of valuable economic characteristics. Two pea accessions – references of resistance to Ascochyta leaf and pod spot have been identified and registered with the NCPGRU. Two working collections have been built up and registered with the NCPGRU Product Description popup.authors Zviahintseva Anna M. Lutsenko Tetiana M. popup.nrat_date 2021-01-11 Close
