Purpose - to ensure reliable ex-situ storage of germoplasm, identification of the gene pool to create special collections, participation in research programs ensuring a sustainable increase in the amounts and quality of yields from new varieties and hybrids, profitability, energy and resource savings. Several investigations have been conducted to form, maintain and preserve collections, which made it possible to form and maintain collections comprising totally 23,655 samples in a living state at the Experimental Station. 1,316 sources of economic and valuable-for-breeding traits have been identified. 36 unique specimens have been selected and submitted for registration with the National Center for PGR of Ukraine. Core collections of peas, a working collection of food corn varieties, a trait collection of buckwheat by distinction features, and a special collection of high-yielding winter bread wheat accessions have been submitted for registration with the National Center for PGR of Ukraine. 665 samples have been included in collections. Image databases have been supplemented with data on 251 samples, and information databases - with data on 741 samples. 2,625 samples were transferred to users. Registration certificates for winter bread wheat varieties Korovaina and Metelytsia Kharkivska and for common corn VK 64 (parental component) have been received; winter bread wheat varieties Pronia and Haiok and common corn F1 Tvister were submitted to state variety trials. We cooperate with over 50 research and educational institutions of Ukraine and other countries. The obtained scientific and technical products (collections, samples, catalogs, databases, etc.) are new material that has no analogues in Ukraine.
