Purpose - to ensure reliable ex-situ storage of germplasm, identification of the gene pool to create special collections, participation in research programs ensuring sustainable growth in yield and quality of new varieties and hybrids, profitability, energy and resource savings, environmental friendliness and promotion of the plant biodiversity preservation. Work was done to form, maintain and preserve collections. Collections of technical and fodder crops, vegetables and potatoes comprising totally 7,775 samples of 19 crops were built up at the Experimental Station. 1,588 samples were comprehensively studied. 322 sources have been selected from the collections. 48 unique accessions of potato, lettuce, Indian mustard, rape, Camelina, alfalfa, wheatgrass, and cocksfoot have been submitted for registration with the NCPGRU; 27 registration certificates have been received for accessions; 2 trait collections have been registered. 1,864 new accessions have been were introduced. 4,003 collection accessions of technical and fodder crops as well as of vegetables belonging to Ustymivska Experimental Station of Plant Production have been stored in live condition, and their seeds have been reproduced. 202 accessions of technical and fodder crops as well as of and vegetables submitted for registration in Ukraine as a valuable gene pool were expertly evaluated. Research and educational institutions of Ukraine used 2299 samples of the gene pool in their studies and educational programs. 966 samples have been transferred to the National Seed Depository for storage. 2,241 samples have been packed for medium-term storage in the doublet depository of the Station.
