Coating copper with ZnO semiconductor films also increases breakdown resistance by 20%. Copper coatings with thin films of metals, such as Al, Ni, Ti, Mo, W, also increase the voltage of high-voltage breakdowns by 10 ÷ 25% relative to pure copper. Copper coatings with metal films showed a weak dependence of the field emission current density on the metal output. It is experimentally shown that the texture of the film coating significantly affects its resistance to high-voltage breakdowns. The quantum-mechanical problem of electron motion through the model potential barrier of the metal-vacuum system with the introduction of an additional surface dipole layer is solved.
