The scope of research included the following: creation of a database of industrial and laboratory treatments of cast iron with magnesium granules, its expert analysis, establishment of basic analytical dependences and the relationship between them, development of a mathematical model for calculating rational technological parameters. Thus, the following analytical dependences were obtained: height of free board from bath diameter, maximum intensity of magnesium introduction from bath diameter taking into account required height of free board, lance nozzle diameter from magnesium input intensity, gas flow rate from lance nozzle diameter, geometric layout parameters tract injection system from the diameter of the bath. On the basis of the established dependences the general technique of calculation of rational technological parameters of work and arrangement of injection system for process of ladle refining of melt of pig-iron by granular magnesium is developed and implemented in the Microsoft Excel software environment for a wide range of standard sizes of the processed ladles (with a capacity from 0,1 to 400 t).
