The purpose of the work is the creation of domestic gas detectors of gamma-radiation of a new generation with a particularly clean xenon, with an extended resource and wide radiation and temperature ranges of work intended for long-term and reliable use in the structure of nuclear energy equipment. During the final stage, the characteristics of the developed proportional counters (PC) were improved. The technology of disconnection from the high-purity xenon gas filling installation and the detector sealing technology were developed. The gamma-radiation detection unit (DU) was manufactured based on the developed PL. The improved PL model features a BeCu anode with a diameter of 30 mkm, which increased its calculated and spectrometric properties, an improved single-tube gas filling scheme, high-purity (6N) mixture of Xe+2.1%CH4 at a pressure of 125 kPa. To increase thermal and radiation resistance, all structural elements are made of materials that are weakly activated by ionizing radiation. Measurements were made and the following characteristics were calculated: pulse counting rate, signal-to-noise ratio, energy resolution, gas gain; the gamma-radiation dose was estimated. Irradiation was performed with gamma sources 60Co, 137Cs, 133Ba, 241Am, 252Eu. Based on the results of the measurements and data processing, a detector certification passport was created. The amplified signal level of the detector was up to several volts, and the signal-to-noise ratio up to 80/1. The best-achieved energy resolution was ~ 6% for the 60 keV line of the isotope 241Am. The obtained results allow us to propose a systematic approach to the development and production of a domestic modern gas detector of ionizing radiation, both with counting and spectrometric properties.
