The object of research is the process of functioning of the fuel and lubricants market in Ukraine. The aim of the work is to assess the level of consumption and trends in the efficiency of energy resources in agriculture of Ukraine, development of guidelines for analytical assessments and forecast of the market of fuels and lubricants for the agricultural sector of the economy. In the process of research the dialectical method of scientific cognition, analysis and synthesis, monographic, comparison, graphic methods, correlation-regression analysis were used. The study revealed the essence and features of the oil market of Ukraine, identified the main trends in the market of fuels and lubricants, identified factors influencing the trend of the domestic market of petroleum products and clarified the mechanism of their interaction, determined the degree of influence on diesel fuel prices as individual factors , and their totality. The analysis revealed destabilizing factors in the oil and oil products market, identified the need for systemic changes in the market model and created conditions for increasing the competitiveness of domestic oil products in the Ukrainian market, creating conditions to promote and stimulate the refining industry to reduce dependence on oil imports. Based on the establishment of trends in the market of fuel and energy resources, an econometric model was built, which allows to determine the relationship between the world oil price and the dollar exchange rate and the retail price of diesel fuel in Ukraine. This model is the basis for identifying trends in the market of fuel and energy resources and forecasting the price of diesel fuel in Ukraine.
