Concentration of glucose in blood plasma increased, and concentrations of ketone bodies, urea and non-esterified fatty acids were decreased. The addition of monensin increased the milk yield of cows, hop cones did not affect milk yield. The addition of hop cones and vitamin E to the diet of cows affected the rumen fermentation - as a result of higher cellulolytic activity in the contents of the rumen was increased the concentration of volatile fatty acids; reduced the proteolytic activity led to a decrease in the concentration of ammonia in the rumen. In the blood of pre-calved cows, the studied feed additive reduced the concentration of peroxidation products, without affecting other parameters. After calving, the feed additive stimulated the synthesis of glucose by liver, reduced the intensity of the fatty acids release from adipose tissue, inhibited peroxidation and reduced the concentration of ketone bodies in the blood. Therapeutic and prophylactic dietary supplement containing crushed hop cone granules, vitamin E and protected from degradation in the rumen: choline, methionine and carnitine, reduces the concentration of beta-hydroxybutyrate and increases the concentration of glucose in the blood of cows after calving. In cows with a subclinical form of ketosis, normalization of blood parameters is observed, and in cows suffered with clinical ketosis of cows, the disease progresses to a subclinical form.
