Systematic calculations of energy and angular dependences of integral and differential cross sections of elastic scattering, excitation and ionization of Ca, Si, P, S, Al atoms by electron impact are carried out. The results of the calculation are compared with the available experimental data and the results of the calculation of other authors. The role of the effects of the connection of discrete states with the continuum in the dynamics of the processes of excitation and ionization of atoms by electrons is clarified and the expediency of their consideration in the calculations of the scattering characteristics of electrons on atoms is shown. The sensitivity of scattering cross sections to the effects of electron correlation in both the N-electron atomic target and the (N + 1)-electron collision system has been studied.
