The regularities of the formation of the species structure of meadow herbage, the adaptability of grasses to growing conditions, temperature and water conditions under various fertilization systems, surface and radical improvement, have been studied. It has been established, that the quality of natural grass stand indirectly depends on the level of soil fertility along the vector of slopes and fertilization. The highest increase in protein was observed for the application of ammonium nitrate (N120). With a radical improvement, the use of a mineral fertilization system with complex mixed or nitrogen fertilizers ensures the dominance of nitrophilic grasses. The hay stand corresponds the needs of ruminants and contains 14.0-16.4% of crude protein, 23.7-27.2% of fiber and 2.1-2.5% of fat.
