A multi-criteria analysis of radiation consequences of severe accidents at NPP power units and in the environment has been performed. The assessment and preliminary characterization of the amount and physicochemical state of radioactive waste that should occur as a result of accidents accompanied by severe damage to the core due to the release of radioactive substances over safety barriers and interventions aimed at shutting down the reactor. The choice of possible directions of waste management, which arise due to the release of radioactive substances beyond the safety barriers, depending on their quantity and physical state, as well as interventions aimed at shutting down the reactor unit. The analysis of efficiency of various methods of decontamination depending on type of scale of pollution of elements of the NPP and environment which has occurred as a result of accident on the NPP is executed. Scientifically substantiated general requirements for special devices for dismantling NPP elements depending on their radiation condition have been developed. The results of a comprehensive analysis of the radiation state of the NPP and the surrounding area after the acute phase of the accident and proposed scientifically sound approaches and methods of using technologies to bring post-accident power units and the environment to an environmentally safe state. in the scientific and technical activities of the State Enterprise "State Scientific and Technical Center for Control and Emergency Response Systems".
