There was also a positive correlation with a decrease in the content of 25OHD in the central nervous system. Significant, presumably compensatory, increase in the expression of VDBP, CYP27B1, CYP24A1 and VDR in brain tissue with chronic prednisolone has been shown. These changes were accompanied by impaired cytoarchitectonics in various structural parts of the brain. There was a decrease in K+ -depolarization-induced exocytosis in isolated nerve terminals, as well as inhibition of Ca2+-dependent fusion of vesicles with synaptic membranes under the neurotoxic effect of prednisolone.
