The purpose of the work is to create composite smart casings for aircraft structures that have functional properties while maintaining their design properties. The study was divided into three main stages. At the design stage of the composite structure, the main problems were solved, namely: protection against erosion, icing, lightning strikes and birds; stress-strain monitoring and integration of metal layers to increase strength and increase thermal and electrical conductivity. In addition, the combination of structural elements should be performed with a hybrid connection, based on metal pins embedded in a modified conductive matrix. Analytical calculations and development of mathematical software products were verified by the finite element method. The technological stage was aimed at developing a technical process for manufacturing a smart structure with a combination of all composite layers and the integration of monitoring sensors and metal layers so that there is no deviation from the specified angles of reinforcement. Also, at this stage, the electrical conductivity methods of the composite were improved so that the conductive layer acquired the desired specific characteristics of electrical resistance, and did not reduce the mechanical characteristics when introduced into the composite structure. Technological testing of various parameters of the hybrid joint made it possible to make practical recommendations for the type of metal-left part of the joint, the features of installation in the composite and methods of manufacturing and applying a modified binder.
