Purpose: to study the features of genetic control of technological qualities of millet grain (size, filminess, grain shape) to create genetic sources of high mass of 1000 grains, optimal filminess and spherical shape of grain in combination with other economically valuable traits. The main results of the study: obtained and transferred to the National Center for Genetic Resources of Plants of Ukraine genetic sources on search grounds: high weight of 1000 grains, optimal filminess, high grain uniformity and spherical grain shape in combination with resistance to lodging and smut and melanosis l.2118- 12 (IUDS019531); pp.3354-16 (IUDS019532); pp.4026-17 (IUDS019533); pp.4023-17 (IUDS019534); pp.3952-17 (IUDS019535); pp.2361-18 (IUDS019536); pp.4003-17 (IUDS019537). The revealed nature of inheritance of signs of technological qualities of millet grain indicates an intermediate type of manifestation of these signs. The obtained data suggest that the traits "mass of 1000 grains" and filminess are controlled by the additive-dominant system of genes.
