Structural parameters (size, size distribution), features of agglomerate morphology and crystal structure of synthesized samples are studied in detail. The properties of colloidal solutions of the obtained materials by the method of UV and photoluminescent spectroscopy were investigated. The starting and nitrogen-containing samples were tested in the reaction of trapping reactive oxygen species, in particular the hydroxyl radical in the model reaction of hydrogen peroxide decomposition. It is shown that both samples show high catalytic activity, similar to the enzyme catalase. Analysis of the results of previous quantum chemical calculations shows that the presence of different functional groups in the graphene-like plane significantly affects the energy effect of the chemisorption reaction, as well as the redistribution of electron density in the formed product of superoxide anion radical with the original and modified pyrene, complex. Preliminary intravenous administration of the original, unmodified graphene sample is accompanied by a significant reduction in the degree of reperfusion disorders of isolated heart function caused by experimental modeling of ischemia-reperfusion. This makes it possible to consider this sample promising for the development of drugs with cardioprotective properties.
