Spherical optical lenses are used to expand the light beam. The design is easy to assemble, technological and does not require particularly high precision in production. Optical losses in the communication channels with standard gradient fiber-optic cables with a diameter of the light-conducting core of 50 μm and a numerical aperture NA = 0.19 do not exceed 1.5 dB. To reduce the amount of optical losses in the optical connector, it is necessary to use lenses with illuminated surfaces. In this case, the optical loss will not exceed 0.4 dB.
