The work used a multidisciplinary approach involving classical methods in the field of chemistry, biomaterials, microbiology and clinical medicine. The composition and sensitivity of the respiratory tract microflora to antibiotics were studied. Factors influencing the peculiarities of microbiota formation and the frequency of infectious complications were established. A collection of polyresistant microorganisms of the ESKAPE group was formed. Nanoparticles of Ag, Cu, ZnO were synthesized using different modes and approaches. The modes that allow obtaining the particles with controlled size and dispersion in solution have been established. Materials based on chitosan were modified by adding nanoparticles of Ag, Cu, ZnO. The physicochemical characteristics and parameters of stability of complex compounds over time and under the influence of physical factors (temperature, ultrasonic vibrations) and chemicals (lysozyme) was performed. The antimicrobial properties of the materials against polyresistant clinical strains were studied. The influence of nanocomposites on various structures of a bacterial cell was studied and the mechanisms of action were destruction of the cell wall of microorganisms and the violation of its permeability. Synergistic antibacterial action of nanoparticles and chitosan was established. The safety parameters of the composites at the cellular level were determined, in particular, the complexes of chitosan with nanoparticles have lower cytotoxicity compared to pure nanometals. The feasibility of using silver nanoparticles for the treatment of purulent processes in the form of monotherapy and in combination with other antimicrobial substances and physical factors was proven experimentally.
