Object of study - unknown or poorly researched documents, materials and exhibits from the collection of the National Museum of History of Ukraine, archives and libraries that reflect the history of Ukraine in the twentieth century. The purpose of the work is to identify, study, analyze and systematize new sources from the recent history of Ukraine, to introduce into the circulation of new scientific information about this period. Elaboration of funds of the National Museum of History of Ukraine, archives and libraries in order to identify and develop new materials on the events of the twentieth century in Ukraine, their publication. Research methods - general scientific: analysis, synthesis, generalization, historical, logical. And also special historical: comparative-historical, problem-chronological, structural-comparative and other methods. Results - materials from NMIU funds, archives and libraries that relate to the recent history of Ukraine (XX century) have been analyzed, processed and partially systematized. A considerable amount of new source material has been introduced into the scientific circulation, which allows to trace certain regularities of the historical development of Ukraine in the twentieth century, its political, material and spiritual culture. The sources analyzed during 2020 give you more information about the struggle of the Ukrainian people for the revival of their statehood in the twentieth century, about the period of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921, about the period of existence of the USSR (1922-1991), Ukrainian liberation movement and other important topics. The results of research and development are already used and can be used in the creation of new general and specialized studies on various aspects of the recent history of Ukraine, in the preparation of training courses in modern history in higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
